Casino Bonuses FAQs

Gaming online can be overwhelming for some of our readers. What casinos should you join? What games should you play? How do I fund my account? These are some of the questions we get on a daily basis.

Some of the questions we get inspire us to write full fledged articles for. You’ll notice we have pages that explain how to make a deposit, what games work best for clearing deposit bonuses, and how to choose a casino based on what country you live in (and other factors).

The rest are too short to create guides around. So we created this FAQ page to serve as a catch all. If you don’t find your question answered somewhere else on the site, then chances are good you’ll find it below.

What are the best casinos in Canada?

That depends. What do you want; bonuses, games, deposit options, etc?

That said, check out 888 Casino, Jackpot City, Spin Palace or All Slots. Those are good places to start.

What are some reliable UK casinos?

The same options (from above) will work. Other ideas include Bet365, Betfair and William Hill. The upside to many of these casinos is that they have poker and sportsbetting, too.

What are some advantages to online casinos? What about disadvantages?

Advantages: You can play from home, save on traveling costs of traveling (which you can use to play more), avoid lines, switch casinos instantly, and participate in lots of promotions (deposits bonuses don’t exist offline).

Disadvantages: Online gambling is illegal in some states, and hard to do in others. Depositing can be a pain. Shady casinos are more common online, and you miss out on the attractions and shows that are commonplace in cities like Las Vegas.

Is online roulette fixed or completely random?

Completely random. All online games (except for live dealer games) are ran by RNGs (random number generators).

Besides – who would play a fixed game?

Where can I find the biggest bonuses?

Casino promotions change regularly. One day Bovada might have the largest bonus, while the following month it might be Loco Panda. The best way to stay up to date is to bookmark the casinos’ promotions page, or come back and read our reviews.

At the moment though, Loco Panda is offering a 400% offer up to $4,000. Begado is offering a 333% / $3,333 bonus, which nets you nearly $10 grand. Slots Jungle has a $10k offer, too, and Slots.lv is offering a $5,000 bonus.

How do I decide which casino to join?

That’s hard to answer. Each person has their own priorities.

For example, I prefer to look at games and software. I want to know if a casino has live dealer games, and if I can play games like blackjack or slots from my Windows tablet or iPhone.

Having these priorities helps me to narrow down my options. So, ask yourself, what matters to me? Do you want cash back offers, a casino that accepts US players, Western Union, what?

That should give you a list of casinos to work from.

What is the best deposit method for Americans?

Any form of plastic – options like Visa, MasterCard, American Express (Amex), etc. Not only credit and debit cards, though, but prepaid and gift cards, too. These will clear your account quickly, have reasonable min/max limits, and are available at every casino.

Money transfers work well, too. I like how they keep your bank out of the loop while allowing you to transfer large somes of money quickly.

What is the best casino for Americans?

My opinion is Bovada and Carbon Casino. They have a large game selection (100+), mobile apps, and a poker room and sportsbook.

Why do casinos have wager requirements for their deposit bonuses?

This is to prevent people from taking advantage of them. If you signed up for the bonus and withdrew as soon as you got it, the casino is out all that money with nothing to show for it. The play through requirements keep players honest – and ensures that the casino makes money.

What is the difference between a match and no deposit bonus?

With a match bonus, the casino offers to match a portion of your deposit. For example, with a 100% / $1,000 offer, if you deposited $200, the casino would give you $200 extra to play with.

No deposit bonuses require no deposit from you. These are smaller offers, though, and are for playing only – you cannot cash them out.

What states have legalized online casinos?

As of writing this, New Jersey and Delaware.

Do these casinos offer deposit bonuses?

Yeah, some of them do. At Harrah’s you can get free spins and a 100% bonus up to $200. The Golden Nugget is offering a $10 free play. Ultimate Poker is offering a $25 free play and a $500 deposit bonus.

It just depends on the casino.

Can I have both the mobile and web deposit bonus?

No. The casinos I spoke to stated that you have to choose between the two.

Just ask yourself – do I want a larger bonus and/or to play from my laptop, or do I want a smaller bonus and/or to play from my phone or tablet? Your answer should point you in the right direction.

Which casino games have the best odds?

These games have the best odds:

Blackjack – .28%
Video poker – .46%
Pai gow poker – 1.46%
Baccarat – 1.06%
Craps – 1.36 – 1.41% (for pass/don’t pass or come/don’t come bets)
Roulette – 2.70% (single zero)

Which casino games have the worst odds?

Slots – 2-15%
Keno – 25-29%

Craps and roulette bets not listed above, and most casino side bets, will have house edges of 5-10+ percent.

Which casino game is the most fun to play?

That depends on you. What do you enjoy playing?

Lots of people like playing slots, because they’re like video games. Especially with the bonus rounds, graphics and scenes.

Others like blackjack or poker, because there is a level of skill involved to win.

What do you like? If you don’t know, just try each game until you find something you enjoy.

Why don’t casinos have windows?

Casinos don’t want you to look outside and figure out what time it is. The time might indicate to you that you’ve been playing for too long, and that there are other things you should be doing.

No windows also prevents you from paying attention to what’s happening outside.

Why don’t casinos have clocks?

So you don’t know how long you’ve been playing.

Which games earn the casinos the most money?

Slots. They make up approximately 50% of the casinos’ revenue.

Can I count cards online?

Not on the standard games, no. There’s no way to count cards accurately, since cards are shuffled every hand. You cannot get deck penetration. Also, many software programs have infinite decks, so there’s no way to get an accurate account.

You can count cards at live dealer games, but online casinos have strict rules against it. You risk losing your account if you get caught.

How do you consistently win at online casinos?

You get lucky.

Seriously, though, there’s no way to win consistently.

Are there real money apps in the Apple app store?

Yes. Just do a search for real money apps. You can also look for a specific casinos (like I did for 888 New Jersey). Keep in mind that if you’re in the US, you will get results based on your location. For example, the only PokerStars app that popped up is their .Net (free money) version.

Do I have to play for real money?

No, every online casino that I’ve been to allows you to play for free.

Do I have to take the deposit bonus?

No, but sometimes the bonus is automatic – it’s given to you when you make a deposit.

If you don’t want the bonus you’ll have to contact support (before depositing) to ask to be opted out.

What casinos accept Bitcoin?

Not many, yet. Seals With Clubs do.

What are bonus codes?

These are codes that casinos, websites and webmasters use to track their marketing efforts. Often times a special offer is attached to it. You’ll use the code (if you choose to) during the sign up or deposit phase. There will be a box for you to enter it in.

Bonus codes are also known as referral, marketing and coupon codes.

What are instant play bonuses?

These are small bonuses that are given to you once you create a real money account. Most times they are for play only – you won’t be able to cash them out, or the winnings you’ve earned with them.

Are there bonuses that don’t have wager requirements?

Yes, but they are far and few between, and aren’t offered from casinos I would trust making a deposit to.

What is a play through requirement?

These are terms that the casino place in trade for giving you a (free) bonus.

For example, you might be asked to wager 25x your deposit and bonus amount. If you deposit $100 and receive $100, you would have to wager $5,000 before you can request a cash out.

You can request a cash out sooner, but at the risk of voiding your bonus and winnings. That’s why it’s so important to read the terms and conditions before accepting a casino’s offer.
